Five stops until move-in

On average, only a few days pass between your first message and the handover of the keys.

Step 1

Find a shared room

Browse our available rooms in the canton of Zurich and find the right offer for you.

Directly on the website

On our home page you can see all available shared rooms at a glance – with photos, prices and availability. Just click on “Enquire about a room” and we will get back to you.

Via WhatsApp

Send us a short message with your requirements, for example: “I am looking for a room from the beginning of next month, budget approx. CHF 1,200.” We reply quickly and without fuss: +41 44 512 87 87

Tip: the earlier you enquire, the better your chances – popular rooms in Zurich are often taken quickly.
Step 2

Viewing

We would like to meet you in person – and of course you should know what to expect. A viewing is therefore mandatory.

Viewing on site

After your enquiry we arrange an appointment. You see the room and the shared areas of the flat and can ask all your questions directly.

Video viewing

If you do not live in the region yet or travelling is not possible, we offer a live video call. That way you see the room in real time without having to travel.

Your new home

Move in without any hassle

All rooms are fully furnished and ready to move into immediately. Kitchen, bathroom and internet are included – you only bring your suitcase.

Step 3

Tenancy agreement & documents

No paperwork battles – we keep it as simple as possible.

What you need

Only a photo or scan of your valid ID (Swiss ID card, passport or residence permit). No debt collection extract, no proof of salary, no employer confirmation.

Tenancy agreement

We send you the tenancy agreement digitally. As soon as you have returned it signed, the room is reserved for you. With the tenancy agreement you can also register officially with your municipality.

Payment

You transfer the first month’s rent and the deposit (1 month’s rent). Cash payment is also possible. Only then do you receive the key.

Step 4

Move in

Everything paid, contract signed? Then welcome to your new flatshare!

Key handover

Depending on availability, we hand over the key to you personally or you collect it from a securely located key safe – then you can move in at any time, including in the evening or at the weekend.

Your room

The room was thoroughly cleaned before you moved in. You will find fresh bed linen, a clean mattress cover and labelled storage space in the shared kitchen and bathroom.

Step 5

Termination

You stay as long as it suits you. Giving notice is just as uncomplicated as moving in.

Notice period

Depending on the tenancy agreement, you can give 14 or 30 days’ notice – in each case effective mid-month or at the end of the month. The exact deadlines are always stated in your contract.

Submitting your notice

Send us an e-mail to info@zimmer-in-zuerich.ch or send us a registered letter by post. We confirm the termination in writing as soon as possible.

Please note: termination is not possible between 1 December and 15 January; in this case the end of the tenancy automatically shifts to 15 January.
